Grothendieck House is a small editorial publisher. The data we collect is the minimum required to publish books, fulfill orders, and respond to readers, booksellers, and authors who write to us. This page describes what we hold and why.
What we collectWhen you write to one of our addresses — hello@, submissions@, press@, trade@, rights@ — we receive whatever you choose to send: your email address, your name as you sign it, and the contents of your message. We do not enrich these records, append data from third parties, or share them with anyone outside the house.
When you order a book directly, we receive the shipping and billing information required to fulfill the order. Payments are processed by our fulfillment partner; we do not see card details.
The site itself uses no tracking pixels, no advertising cookies, and no third-party analytics that profile readers. Aggregate, anonymous request logs are kept by our hosting provider for security and to size capacity. No reader is identified in those logs.
How long we keep itSubmissions correspondence is retained for as long as the manuscript is under consideration and for a brief period after decisions are made, so we can write a considered reply. Trade and press records are retained for the life of the relationship. Order records are retained to honor returns, replacements, and tax obligations. If you would like a record of yours removed, write to hello@grothendieckhouse.com and we will do so promptly unless we are legally required to retain it.
Who has accessOnly the editors and the small team that fulfills orders and answers correspondence have access to reader-identifying records. We do not sell, lease, license, or otherwise share these records with third parties. We do not use them to train models.
Third-party servicesThe site is served by Cloudflare. Sanity hosts the editorial content. Fulfillment is handled by our distribution partner. Each of these vendors processes data on our behalf under their own privacy policies; we choose them because their standards meet ours.
ChildrenOur titles are written for adult readers. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
ContactFor any privacy question — what we hold about you, how to correct it, how to have it removed — write to hello@grothendieckhouse.com. We respond to every letter.
